Welcome to Schantz Haus, the homestead of Josef Schantz,founder of Johnstown. The homestead is now a working farm owned and operated by Bill and Jeanette Hunsberger and two of their sons. The farm sits on 120 acres of land providing woods, pasture, cropland and housing for 150 Black Angus, a small flock of Bluefaced Leicester/Gotland sheep, chickens and roosters and an occasional 4H pig. In addition Hunsberger Farms LLC works approximately 1500 acres of beans, corn, wheat and hay and manages a custom harvesting business. The farm is located in Davidsville, easily accessed off of Rt. 219 and close to other locations of historical significance.
